Recent Projects

Recent projects include:

  • Conducting comprehensive flora and fauna surveys of a rainforest gully on Homeland Community. We are in the process of carrying out work including frog surveys (spotlighting and listening); trapping for small mammals (both arboreal and terrestrial); using ANABAT (an electronic call-detecting device) to survey for microbats; systematic daytime bird surveys; and spotlighting/call playback surveys for nocturnal birds and mammals. Our results will be used in a monitoring program to examine the effectiveness of rainforest rehabilitation work on the property.
  • Mapping the coastal vegetation of the Bellingen LGA, for Bellingen Shire Council and the Northern Rivers Catchment Management Authority
  • Mapping and assessing selected patches of high quality roadside vegetation in the Bellingen LGA, for Bellingen Shire Council and the NSW Roadside Environment Committee
